Both teaching staff and parents are issued with security usernames and passwords. These are used to access your personalised ILD system through the teacher or parent web portals.

DO WE REQUIRE INDIVIDUAL LICENSES FOR EVERYONE WHO WILL USE THE ILD? 2017-01-18T12:38:47+00:00

No. With the ILD you simply purchase an annual renewable software license which allows as many staff members and parents as you wish to use the system.

ARE THERE ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR ILD SOFTWARE UPDATES? 2017-01-18T12:52:54+00:00

No. All updates are supplied free of charge and as we know how busy educators are, these are automatically loaded into the ILD for you. The ILD was originally and still is, developed by practitioners and teachers. All of our ILD users worldwide are encouraged to forward their future development and enhancement suggestions as we wish to meet or exceed the reporting requirements of all our members. The ILD is also constantly evolving to match curriculum and government legislation changes to ensure your reporting system is always up to date.

DO YOU HAVE ACCESS TO A RESTRICTED VERSION OF THE ILD DURING THE 30 DAY FREE TRIAL? 2017-01-18T12:50:50+00:00

No, it’s the fully functional version of the ILD which you use during your trial. You also received the same level of free support which is enjoyed by existing ILD members.

Absolutely. Not only is the ILD a highly effective educational reporting tool, it can also provide substantial cost and time efficiencies within your nursery or school. Within months of using the system, there should be a substantial reduction in your office consumable costs.

If you decide to join us as an ILD member, your data is securely encrypted and stored on our servers. When your license is activated, all data is accessible to authorised users. In the event, you decide not to use the ILD, you are offered the option to download your data or we request your consent to delete this from our servers.

If you have seen the ILD in action at a nursery or school or attended a presentation, simply use our Purchase ILD online form and we will have your system set up immediately.

No problem. If you decide to purchase before your trial expires, simply email our technical team and your account will be upgraded. All your trial data will be automatically saved and your ILD will remain fully operational without any interruption.

Yes, of course. When your trial commences, we’ll send you an email which includes access to useful tutorial videos and guides, we then send you a friendly reminder before your trial expires. During your trial, our support team will also be available to assist you.

Download the app you require from the Apple, Google or Windows store to your tablet or smartphone and login using the secure registration process or by using your username and password. You can now access your child’s learning diary, send your own observations from home and receive notifications from your nursery or school.

You simply complete the secure registration process through your nursery or school and login to the Parent Portal with your username and password. If you also wish to download and use our free ILD Parent apps, you can complete the secure registration process on the mobile app.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY CHILD’S LEARNING DIARY WHEN THEY LEAVE THE NURSERY? 2017-01-18T12:28:13+00:00

Your nursery can arrange for you to download a full digital copy of your child’s learning diary which includes all photos, video and audio clips. If your child is about to attend a school which also uses the Interactive Learning Diary, we can securely transfer their diary into the school ILD system for their new teacher to continue recording their educational development.

Yes. You can arrange secure access for grandparents with your childminder, nursery or school.

Parents can only access their own child or children’s learning diaries and if they have several children registered on the ILD, our single point sign in function allows them to view the diaries of all their children simultaneously.

DOES MY NURSERY / SCHOOL REQUIRE WI-FI TO USE THE ILD? 2017-01-18T12:22:13+00:00

No. the ILD mobile apps can record observations with or without Wi-Fi access so even if your network coverage is poor or even down for maintenance, all staff members can conduct their reporting simultaneously. The ILD can be used in outdoor pay areas or even in the countryside during a school excursion. A Wi-Fi connection is only required when you wish to transfer data from your device into the ILD live web based reporting system.

DO WE HAVE TO PURCHASE DEDICATED TABLETS OR DEVICES TO USE THE ILD? 2017-01-18T12:17:29+00:00

No. With the ILD you can use virtually any Apple or Android mobile device.

Some software systems require you to purchase dedicated tablets directly from them but this isn’t required with the ILD. Dedicated tablet systems are often locked down so you cannot download and use any other teaching or educational applications apart from the company’s own software system. We believe that you should be able to use the full range of functionality with your chosen mobile device.

No. As each staff member has their own unique 4 digit pin number, they can simply login to any Apple or Android tablet with the ILD app installed within seconds. When observation / reporting has been completed, they log out and tablet can be used by another staff member.

Absolutely. We provide free technical support and there are several ways to contact our support team. Use Live Chat through the ILD web portal and receive immediate assistance from our team or if you prefer, by phone or email. Many of our members have informed us of the poor service they received from other products and are delighted with the service we provide. We are constantly commended on our level of support and response times.

Yes. Apart from our comprehensive online user guides and videos, we also offer our free online training. As an ILD member, this free training is available whenever you may require it for existing or new team members and is included as part of your annual license.

Yes you can. We know from experience how busy educators are and you may simply wish to capture an activity and record a brief outline. At a more convenient time, you can edit your observation and this edit at later date functionality is available in all aspects of the ILD. With other reporting systems, this isn’t possible and once an observation is logged, no changes can be made.

DOES EVERY OBSERVATION IMMEDIATELY GO LIVE IN A CHILD’S LEARNING DIARY? 2017-01-18T12:10:35+00:00

No. As an appointed Super User, you can bespoke the functionality of the ILD to meet your exact requirements. One of the numerous functions within the system ensures unapproved observations can be filed for moderation by senior staff if required. Only approved observations can go live. There is also an auto spell checker to assist you if required.

Yes, our parent portal and ILD Parent mobile apps have received a fantastic response from parents and educators. Educators, children and parents can now work in close partnership which is highly beneficial for a child’s educational development. Parents, grandparents and other relatives can also be issued with usernames and passwords if required and they can upload observations from home which can be included in the child’s learning diary. Parents receive Next Step updates from school to enable them to focus on the relevant part of the curriculum. Educators can also publish anything they require to their parents through the ILD Parent mobile apps.

With this type of system, all you require to access the data in your ILD is an internet or Wi-Fi connection and a web browser such as Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Safari. As there is no software to load on your laptop or P.C. an added bonus is that it can be accessed from anywhere. The term web based does not mean your data is stored on the internet. Your data is securely encrypted and stored on our servers in the U.K. and you access this through the secure web portal by using your username and password.

The ILD isn’t a software programme which you load onto a P.C. or laptop. It’s a live web based application and can be accessed from nursery, school, home or anywhere in the world where you have an internet or WI-fi connection. The ILD live web application is the heart of the system which operates the advanced reporting, tracking and planning functions. The free mobile apps which you download onto your phone or tablet allow you to capture observations anywhere indoors or outdoors.

No, the ILD has been designed by practitioners and teachers and the highly intuitive design of the software makes it very easy to use. We have also included a fully functional special training class within the ILD for inexperienced staff members to practice with prior to uploading live data for children in their class. Feedback confirms our users found this function extremely useful when learning to use the ILD.
